Listen To Your Heart

Devotional for Friday, August 22, 1997 by Ken Stright

1 Corinthians 12:31-13:1 - I will show you a still more excellent way. If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Spread love everywhere you go - there is a motto for life you can take beyond the confines of the church. It is Mother Theresa's motto for life. She says:

    First of all in your own house.
    Give love to your children,
    to your wife or husband,
    to a next door neighbour...
    Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.
    Be the living expression of God's kindness;
    kindness in your face,
      kindness in your eyes,
        kindness in your smile,
          kindness in your warm greeting.
            (Mother Theresa).

Prayer: Loving Lord, you fill the world with your love and beauty. Let us live that love day by day to the glory of your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
