A Love For Life

Devotional for Monday, August 25, 1997 by Ken Stright

1 John 4:11-12 - Beloved, since God loved us so much, we ought also to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

"If we discovered that we had only five minutes left to say all that we wanted to say, every telephone booth would be occupied by people calling other people to stammer that they loved them." (Christopher Morley)

Maybe we should reflect on the many people we need to get on the phone to or drop by and see or take out to lunch for no other reason than to say, "I love you."

Would you change anything with the little time remaining? If you would, then do it now - for this is the only day God has given you to transform what is to what can be.

Prayer: With love and adoration we call upon you today and give you thanks for this life meant for love. Help us to speak words of love to those near and far, and let us remember to tell You how much we love you, too. Amen.
