You Don't Have To Be Perfect

Romans 7:15,24,25 - I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate, for I know that nothing good dwells within me. Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!Stephen Farris has written a marvellous little book entitled You Don't Have to be Perfect!, and if you've ever been tempted to put yourself down or write yourself off, or label yourself as good for nothing, then I recommend you take the time to read this book. It puts the lie to that ever-so-erroneous theology that says that once you've accepted Jesus you will be healthy, wealthy, and wise. He calls such nonsense a "hoax" and Christians should have nothing to do with it.
In Christ there is no such thing as being "good for nothing". Our "perfection", our righteousness, has little to do with us but everything to do with the Son of God who loved us and redeemed us and saved us, and has made us perfect... that's right, you don't have to be perfect. You only need to know the one who is, and then walk in His ways.
Prayer: I thank you Lord that you love me just as I am. Take me and make me and mold me into the new creation you would have me be through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
