It Makes A Difference

Devotional for Saturday, September 27, 1997 by Ken Stright

Matthew 25:34-36 - Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

Malcolm Muggeridge had a life changing experience with Mother Theresa. Following her daily routine, Muggeridge asked what difference it made to the world that she was looking after the particular young and dying girl they were looking at. Mother Theresa answered, "It may not make any difference to the world but it makes a difference to this little girl".

Prayer: May we see the face of Jesus in those we meet today...

    the taxi driver in rush hour;
    the clerk at the counter;
    the nameless person next to us;
    the homeless,
    the irritating,
    the demanding,
    the defenceless,
    and the defeated.
Help us to greet them in the name of, and with the love of, Jesus. Amen.
