Word Or Works?

Not being what I would consider "computer literate", I limit myself not only as to how much I know about what my computer can do, but also as to how much I can do with the programs I have. For the most part, this is the way I want it. My e-mail keeps me in touch with family, friends and Daily. My Wordpad allows me to write, and my printer prints it out. Okay, so I play a little solitaire while my printer is printing. And yes, sometimes when writing, I'll put on a soft CD. But that's it.

For writing, my program of preference is Wordpad, for I prefer to check my own spelling and grammar. I also like the ease with which it saves to a disk. Recently, after much nudging, I decided to try the Works, because, as everyone said, it offered so much more. However, for my needs, it seemed to cause more problems. Perhaps it was an older program, but there was too much fiddling around. When I tried to save something, it accepted a far smaller file name than the Wordpad program and was far more finicky in what it would accept.

The very way in which we worship is much the same. What "works" for the way in which we receive and live His "word" is unique and personal to each one of us. Some may choose to be very demonstrative. Others prefer the privacy of a more gentle approach. Each has chosen the way in which they have established their relationship with their creator. And as Christians, that means God.

It isn't how we worship or pray that matters, but that we do.

Prayer: We give thanks, Oh Lord, for our uniqueness, for our ability to establish our personal relationship with You. May we be ever respectful of that uniqueness in each other. In Your name we pray. Amen.
