Tell Us About Yourself

I was recently given a survey to fill in about a car that we had purchased. I was moving along quite well until I came to this question:

Tell Us About Yourself

Your age - [_] Box 1: under 25; [_] Box 2: 25-34;
[_] Box 3: 35-44; [_] Box 4: 45-54; [_] Box 5: 55-64;
[_] Box 6: 65-74; [_] Box 7: 75 or older.

I was joking to my husband that I could tick Box 3: 35-44, but I was also aware that I was only a few months away from ticking Box 4: 45-54. It got me thinking that at times, we do place our lives in increments much like these boxes above. I began to think that Jesus never got past Box 2: 25-34, as He went to the cross for our salvation at the age of 33.

How then are we living our lives? Are we content for our lives to remain in the same old familiar box, or are we happy to move from box to box -- to new experiences and new challenges, making the most of where we are? Are we living and sharing Jesus to the fullest of our ability, no matter which box of life we are in?

Philippians 3:3 - The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ's praise as we do it. We couldn't carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it. (MSG)

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for all that you showed us during Your life on this earth. We want to be sharing Your life and all that You did for us for now and for eternity, no matter what box of life we are presently in. Help us to move gracefully and in Your love from box to box in life, so that when we stand face-to-face with You, we can gladly tell You about our life for You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
