Supreme Blessedness

Like many Christians, I have attended many retreats, conferences, conventions, and revival rallies. Generally, before and during the gatherings, there's a great anticipation, excitement, and expectation of the wonderful life-changing preaching, teachings, and spiritual happenings to come. From the first prayers and choruses, a blessed softening, openness, and surrender takes place, causing us to be ready to receive the supreme blessedness of God's Word and will.Our Lord's first disciples and followers must have had wonderful spiritual experiences every time their new master teacher spoke to them. His teachings were like a rich mine -- every vein full of gold.
Matthew 5:1-2 - And when He saw the multitudes, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. And opening His mouth He began to teach them. (NASB)
Our Lord Jesus was the supreme shepherd teacher in every way. He had the highest spiritual noble calling, qualifications, and ability to lead and teach superbly. He had "the Spirit without measure". (John 3:34 NASB) He knew how to speak a word in due season, when to comfort and when to humble. He knew every heart of His hearers, and He knew the most suitable grains for all the multifarious soils of those hearts. He spoke as much with zeal as with eloquence, exceedingly skilful with His two-edged sword to pierce any crusted heart, yet He poured grace into His hearers. Our Saviour was most successful in converting souls, yes, even people of rank and authority. "Among the chief rulers ... many believed". (John 12:42 KJV)
Great news for us: our Shepherd, Lord Jesus Christ, is still leading us, preaching to us, and teaching us through His written Word today. He has never stopped, and His Word will never pass away. All the majestic attributes and righteousness of His teachings and preachings are all still with us to hear personally, whenever we read His perfectly written Word. We can always be listening to and listening for whatever He wants to say to us at any time. Glory to His holy name!
Prayer: Thank You, gracious and wonderful Lord, for the supreme blessedness of Your Word. Thank You, Lord, that we can live in a permanent state of revival as we read, study, absorb, speak, and share Your teachings. Ever-loving Shepherd, we know that You are ever writing Your life-changing Word on our hearts. Thank You! Thank You! Amen and Amen!
