[Previous Our Readers Respond ] Thanks so much Julie for sharing and God bless. Thank you for opening your heart to us. Wonderful encouragement. Dear Julie: I also have gotten similar calls. The Lord got us through it. I agree completely on that peace thing Julie. Been there done that many times and God is ALWAYS faithful to provide it!!! Loved your devotion this morning Julie. Thank you for this excellent reminder. And may God continue to richly bless you. Thank you, Julie, for this devotional. Having just received an Email, I really needed to be reminded of God's constant presence in our lives and this scripture. Julie It's a real wake up call, isn't it? The call to be still and to know God. God Bless. Julie, You definitely hit a common experience with this devotional. I too have had such an experience, especially when my brother had his trouble. These days, the Lord truly sustains me. Blessings. It is appropriate for me to hear this word as I face a situation that could cause me to lose my peace but I will let my requests be made known to God and the peace that passes understanding will be with me -- that is, the Lord Himself. Thanks for your email. Yes Julie there are times when only the peace of the Lord flooding our souls, can help us. Touching testimony! Thanks. Thank you Julie very much for sharing with us about your mom. I have had something like that happen in the past with me many times. God is always with us. "How is your mom doing now? My prayers are with you and may the peace of the Lord continue to be with you now and always. Dear Julie, I really loved your devotional today. What an encouragement. Thank you for sharing it. Thanks, Julie, for sharing your experience. Only with the Lord's help can we have the peace that passes all understanding in such trying circumstances. I, too, have experienced the calmness you spoke of that cannot be put into words. Praise God for His goodness to us in every circumstance we face. Dear Julie, You have used my two most favorite verses in the Bible. I'm wholeheartedly in agreement with you. What a treasure we have in Jesus Christ! Thank you for your thoughts this morning. Blessings upon you, In Jesus' name, (California, USA) Dear Julie; I read your devotional with tears in my eyes because I know exactly what you were going through. My first question is-how is your Mom? I've been there before a few times, not only with my Mom but with my husband and children; whom are all doing well. My husband is still on the road to recovery. But, as you say, God's peace does come at the most appropriate time. Hi Julie, We also received the early phone call as my husband's mom was in hospital. By the time my husband got there, she had passed away. It is and has been a comfort to know that she is with her Lord. We will miss her but will see her again. On the morning of the funeral the scripture I read was Proverbs 3:1-6. Lean NOT on your own understanding. We do that all the time as humans but as we draw closer to him, that changes and we see beyond our immediate circumstances and we know God has a bigger plan for us. I also love in that passage in one of the translations to wear kindness, mercy and truth like a necklace. Thank for your devotion and for your comforting words. Thank you, Julie. Those were the words from your devotional that I needed to read this morning. My husband is in the hospital. I drove him there this week in the dark, with misty rain, praying I would make it there in time. I was praying to our Lord to keep my husband stable, and to keep my driving safe. Both prayers were answered. He is still in ICU at the hospital, but stable and recovering. "Trust in the Lord." I will keep those words from Philippians in my heart as we get through this crisis. May the peace of Christ be with you as well. I always enjoy your contributions to the Daily Devotions. That's the first thing I read when I turn on my computer in the morning. May God continue to bless you, and your ministry through the devotions. Re: Rituals, Habits, And Aimless Living by Martin Wiles, Friday, January 13, 2012
