[Previous Our Readers Respond ] Well spoken. Amen. That was a good point you made Martin, a timely reminder God is still in control of the powers that be. Blessings. Martin - Your message is needed today as much as it has ever been needed. Thank you for your thoughts. I pray that we will evaluate our attitudes about authority and line them up with God's word. (California, USA) Dear Martin: Yes I agree. God puts those in power whom He chooses! Blessings on you and yours. 'morning: We lived for 5 years(1940-45) under german occupation in the Netherlands. Under those circumstances Romans 13 - 1 is a bit hard to accept. It was our patriotic duty to resist and sabotage the 'german boot'. I am sure God was on our side. Martin, "WoW"! This is awesome and I respect you for writing this today. I happen to feel the same way that you do and It feel good to hear you say this. May God bles you Martin and may he guide and direct us through these time and I pray you can continue to share with us. Good Word Martin. Yes what we are taught in our youth, has a baring on how we respect authority. My parents were not Christians but they still taught me respect for elders etc. I wish I could say the same for even those in the Church. God help us! Blessings. Good Afternoon Martin: This is a message that needs to be told over and over. Too often we witness disrespect being portrayed in every walk of life, with all ages, all societies and all religions showing no respect or patience for anyone who gets in the way of their thinking or who doesn't add up to what is expected from them. I truly believe rebellion begins with disrespect for God, His Word and the true knowledge that He is indeed the creator, controller and Saviour of our universe and until one discovers the true meaning of knowing Christ and conducting our self as He would have us, little respect or love with prevail. It is a very sad fact that it many parents portray a disrespectful, unruly and unloving attitude towards others in front of their children who depend on parental training for their standard in life. (Truly We All Need The Lord) Remembering His patience with all who did not agree with Him. This was a very good message providing much to think about. Re: The Swan Pond by John Stuart, Saturday, January 28, 2012 Thanks. Amen. That is my experience. Good Morning Rev. Stuart: What a nice message. How delightful it must be for you to remember the wonderful times you spent with your family during your young years. Good memories are precious and even the memories that are "not so nice" make us stronger and more compassionate towards others. God has His reason for everything. I think those who share with others and present the Lord their gifts with a loving heart will be rewarded according to God's plan because of their loving and sharing intention. In no way can we think God will give back to us because we have given to him - He will give back because of the love in which we presented the gift, and not because we gave the gift. After all God is God, and He owns everything anyway. I loved your message, we must remember, anything we give the Lord, be it much or little, is only a portion of what rightfully belongs to Him and basically we should receive no favors for giving Him what He owns and deserves.
